Copy writing task

before:

Commission for a tri fold double sided menu design for Toasties Blackpool.
Toasties is a sandwich, shake and cake boutique in Blackpool. Due to being an independent family business, they focus on quality, home-made food and customer service. For their new menu and promotional material, they envisioned an illustrative and playful response to represent the business, to which suited my illustration style.

new:

intro - Toasties is a family ran independent sandwich and cake boutique in Blackpool, England. With a focus on quality, home-made food and customer service Toasties needed a menu that captured these values. I worked alongside with Toasties to concept and design the menu as well as supporting imagery.

design challenges - Toasties is key on handmade and their food being top quality so they wanted their menu to reflect the 'handmade' connotation and stand out from commercial design whilst being functional and fit for purpose.

Design Solution - We created a menu that incorporates illustration with function that overall represents the playful and home-made ethos of Toasties, that will be distributed in store and promoted on social media.

For the task I chose to use Liz Well's copy style due to finding it easier and more suitable for my work to have less type and titles due to having much visuals that speak for them self. After doing the task it is clear that splitting the copy to titles did make it so much easier and concise, which if done with the right layout and for the rest of the portfolio it will make my portfolio more professional.
